3DS Importer

The 3DS importer has the most complete functionality of all importers available in 3Dskope thanks to the superb 3DS library written by Jan Eric Kyprianidis (www.lib3ds.org).

The 3DS importer supports flat scenes and scenes with keyframer nodes. However, most 3DS exporters will only produce flat scenes.

Occasionally you will come across a 3DS file that does not display correctly (e.g. meshes or nodes are displaced).

To help investigate the issue you may E-mail us a copy of your 3DS file. Before reporting a bug verify that your file loads correctly in an original Autodesk® software and include a screenshot to show how the file should be displayed properly.

If your 3DS file does not load correctly in an original Autodesk® software there is a good chance that the file was not exported properly.
